MythBuntu package coverage

I've dropped coverage of the MythBuntu packages for MythNetTV and MythNetTV-GUI because I can't find them in the package repository. I thought they were part of the 8.10 release, but I think I must be wrong. Once I can find details, I will include coverage. --Michael Still, co-author of "Practical MythTV" 18:50, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

General comments

The unit tests (including the SQL) do not appear to be included in the release tarball, only SVN. Possibly should make a clearer distinction about which instructions are valid for each version to avoid confusion. --Josh Stewart (noisymime) 05:23, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Not including the test runner script in the release was a mistake. I've just done release 7, which includes the script. --Michael Still, co-author of "Practical MythTV" 23:13, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Use of 'mythnettv' and './mythnettv' is a little inconsistent. I'm guessing this has been caused by the change from using the debian packages to manual install? --Josh Stewart (noisymime) 05:23, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

There is a reference to "A GUI for MythNetTV" section which doesn't exist (Though I'm keen to read it) :) --Josh Stewart (noisymime) 05:23, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for catching this. I have removed these references, and will re-add them when the GUI is ready. --Michael Still, co-author of "Practical MythTV" 23:18, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Should there perhaps be a section that includes setting up a cron job so that downloads occur regularly? --Josh Stewart (noisymime) 05:23, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I've included a sidebar which links to a tutorial on cron, I am hoping that will be sufficient for now. If people end up confused, I can add more detail later. --Michael Still, co-author of "Practical MythTV" 23:18, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Attempts Are Rate Limited

In this section, cron and screen are mentioned (for the first time?). Perhaps they should each link to an offsite explanation of their function and purpose. People coming to MythTV from a non-linux background may have heard of cron but I will bet that many don't know screen.
I've added a sidebar which points to cron and screen tutorials. --Michael Still, co-author of "Practical MythTV" 22:41, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
